A native of North Florida, Mandy McLean attended the University of Florida in Gainesville from 1995-2001, where she earned both a Bachelors of Science and a Masters of Engineering degree from the College of Engineering in Environmental Engineering Sciences. After graduation, Mandy relocated to Naples with her husband, Matt McLean, and was employed as an engineer by Hole Montes, Inc.

During the summer of 2003, Mandy began using her unique background in math, science, and problem solving to provide academic tutoring, homeschooling, and standardized test preparation services to high school students in Naples.
