There are three main ways we deliver tutoring services:

Private: $70 per hour

Private tutoring is one tutor working with one student. This is the most popular option, as it allows the tutor to focus exclusively on the needs on that particular student. It also removes the fear some students have of appearing to know less than others in a group. For very strong students, private tutoring offers the assurance that they will not feel held back by less advanced students.

Semi-Private: $45 per hour per student

In a semi-private situation, a single tutor works with two students. This is a more cost-effective solution for students who are confident enough to work with a partner and can be matched with someone of similar ability, as pairing students of dissimilar ability tends to create a situation in which one student feels left behind and the other feels held back, a frustrating situation for both of them.

This option is a popular choice for siblings and close friends, but only works well when the students are studying for the same standardized test to be taken on the same date, or are enrolled in the same school class. When this isn't the case, there is too much difference in student needs for the sessions to be truly effective.

Small Group: $35 per hour per student

When it is possible to arrange small groups of students, this is the most cost-effective way of helping students prepare for standardized tests (SAT, ACT, FCAT10). An approach some students take, is to cover the basic materials they need to learn (Math problem-solving techniques and Critical Reading strategies, for example) in a group setting, then fine-tune their skills in a small number of Private (one-on-one) sessions. This strategy is cost effective but also provides a degree of customized learning focusing on individual students' needs. Students interested in Small Group tutoring need to be able to commit to a regular schedule of attendance.
