Gold Star Tutoring specializes in helping 11th and 12th graders prepare for the SAT and ACT. We also help students in grades 6-12 catch-up, keep-up or get ahead in their school subjects, especially Math, English, Spanish and Science. See subject tutoring for more detailed information.

Standardized Tests

We provide help in all areas of the SAT and ACT, tailoring expert-delivered content to the needs of each individual student. We also help students with the FCAT 10, which students must pass to graduate high school.

We do not believe that "one size fits all" when it comes to test preparation; rather, we believe in giving students the knowledge and confidence they need to go as far as they possibly can, based on where they are starting from.

People sometimes think that there are "tricks"they can learn to help them on the SAT and ACT. We don't believe in magic, however; we simply believe in teaching skills and strategies that equip students to perform to the best of their abilities. Every student is different, so we routinely customize what students need to learn, based on their pre-existing levels of knowledge, confidence, general academic ability, and desired achievement. Simply put, we find out where students are academically, what kind of performance they want to achieve, and what kind of time commitment they are willing or able to make. Having done that, we can then customize the combination of skills and strategies we provide to best achieve students’ goals.
